Dance trip
Dear dancers and lovers of unusual journeys,
travels with me to a small, hidden natural paradise on the always sunny and wildly romantic Canary Island of La Gomera. Our destination is the picturesque Finca El Cabrito, which is so remote that you can only reach it by boat. There are no streets, no noise - only the rustling of the Atlantic and the chirping of the circades in the evening. The former banana plantation is located in one of the most beautiful valleys on the island and extends to a 500 meter long black beach. Even in March the water is still a pleasant 20 degrees and invites you to swim. El Cabrito is an oasis of calm - here you are very close to nature and live in the midst of flowering bushes, mango trees, palm trees and banana fields. The seemingly endless starry sky and the view of the Teide, which the glowing red sun bathes in a magical light in the morning, are almost breathtaking.
And what could be nicer to do here than to dance :)? The seminar room is right on the beach, with a magnificent view of the sea. There are also many beautiful places that invite you to dance outside. El Cabrito is an insider tip, but at the same time so enchanting that guests who have discovered this extraordinary place once come back again and again. Therefore, the finca is booked out almost all year round, especially for seminars. Fortunately - and I'm really happy about that - a small gap was found in March. So if you have the time and inclination, we could dance, swim, hike together in this little paradise, have a lot of fun, enjoy the sun, relax, look at the stars or have a glass of wine together ...

Dance class - in the face of the goddess
Oriental Fusion & Afro-Haitian
The dance course is
t inspired by the rhythms and forms of nature that we encounter in different ways every day on the finca. In addition, we dedicate ourselves every day to the archetype of a charismatic goddess and dance with the images that emerge from it. Mythological stories, among other things, form the basis
for various improvisation exercises that we too
connect short sequences. At the beginning there is a warm-up that relaxes the body and senses with various elements from body work and yoga, which brings you more and more into flow and in contact with your core. We play with images, breath, the unexpected and enter into a dance-like dialogue with nature.
Look forward to creative and holistic training that gives you the space to learn at your own pace. You will learn more about rhythm, flow of movement, improvisation and the dance implementation of music. As part of the oriental part, you will also learn elements of my fusion technique, which we develop into dance sequences and interweave poetically with content. This gives you a special expressiveness.

Afro-Haitian dance
During the Afro-Haitian training I would like to invite you to immerse yourself in the colorful, fascinating and magical world of this dance form - in the context of its archaic symbolism and fascinating goddesses, which have amazing parallels to Greek mythology. The dance figures are powerful - full of joie de vivre and expressiveness - and La Gomera is the ideal place to experience them in a healing way in all their originality. If there is a sufficient number of participants, I invite my colleagues back to provide the background music Claude Saturne
a - a true exceptional musician on the Haitian-French music scene. During the last dance trip it played itself directly into the hearts of all participants.
We will not only dance in our beautiful seminar room, but also on wonderfully beautiful dance floors that nature has created ...
You are invited to take part if you feel like exploring the topic of dance in depth, in a unique environment and in community with other women 🙂 The workshop is designed in such a way that every participant is picked up where she is dancing. And of course you can also take breaks or learn at your own pace.

accomodationListenelement 1You live like in a small sleepy village in the middle of flowering bushes or banana fields in huts or in simple, but charmingly furnished rooms. The price initially refers to accommodation in a double room with a size of approx. 20 square meters. Of course, there is also the option of booking a single room or larger rooms for an additional charge. There are few terraced houses with two rooms and shared bathrooms that cost nothing or only slightly more for single occupancy. However, these can only be booked if both rooms are occupied. So the earlier you book, the better your chances that your room requests can be taken into account. Certain categories are booked out early.

CateringListenelement 2Due to its secluded location, the finca only offers full board and it is really rich and delicious, with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables mostly from organic farms - mangoes, avocados, papayas, freshly squeezed juices, exotic homemade jams, tasty goat cheese from the goats the finca. And the best thing is: you can enjoy your meal in the open air right on the beach. Refreshing lemongrass tea and fruit are available throughout the day.

Optional programExperience has shown that El Cabrito is such a beautiful place and there is so much to discover in detail that you hardly want to leave it. But of course La Gomera has so much more to offer. The island is a hiking paradise that is worth exploring. The ascent to the local mountain, which attracts with a magnificent view, is relatively short. The ruins of the abandoned village of Seima are fascinating. The hiking trail to the next bathing bay is also beautiful. You can get to San Sebastian quickly by boat and stroll through the narrow streets and its shops. There is also the possibility of being pampered with various relaxing massages. The El Cabrito team organizes many exciting excursions, botanical tours and boat tours, for example to the national park. With a little luck you can watch whales and dolphins by boat. If you feel like it, we can do something together on one of the partly dance-free days.

getting thereListenelement 3Arrival You can arrive individually or in a group with other participants - just as you want. I am happy to help you with the organization. The trip to El Cabrito is like a little adventure, as La Gomera does not have an international airport on the one hand and you cover the last part of the route with a small boat on the other. You fly to the neighboring island of Tenerife to Tenerife-South Airport and take the bus to the port of Los Christianos, then board the ferry to San Sebastian / La Gomera and from there you will be picked up by the hotel's houseboat. You will receive a detailed description and checklist upon registration. For example, there is the option of having the bus company MESA pick you up, which will then also organize your ferry ticket. In addition, together with the El Cabrito team, I am happy to help you organize your arrival and departure. If you also need help booking your flights, please feel free to contact me. The flights to Tenerife are currently under 200 € (including the return flight) Here is my very personal tip: If you can schedule it, then I recommend you allow yourself an extra day for your arrival and departure. So you could travel to Tenerife on Friday and spend a night there in Los Christianos - maybe enjoy a first swim in the sun and the sea - and then take the relaxed ferry to La Gomera the next morning. For the return journey I recommend you to spend one night in the small port town of San Sebastian and from there to take the ferry to Tenerife the next day. So you could get to know the charming little place and slowly arrive back in 'civilization' without having to plunge into the tourist turmoil of Tenerife. In my experience, the return to the 'normal world' with all its noises and crowds takes some time. I can recommend a nice hotel in San Sebastian. Unfortunately, day extensions are not possible at Finca El Cabrito. But if you have a lot of time, you can of course stay a week longer in El Cabrito and explore the beautiful nature in more detail. Alternatively, I recommend a stay in Valley Gran Ray. Different vegetation, several beaches await you here and it is also a great starting point to explore the other half of the island. Caution! Here is an important note for your flight booking for the journey. The finca points out: «From November to March the weather can be stormy on some days and the sea choppy. For this reason, our boats will only operate to a limited extent in winter after 6.30 p.m. and before 7.30 a.m. for safety reasons, and from November 2019 no longer at all. If you know that you will only have to take an evening ferry to reach San Sebastian on arrival or that you have to choose the early ferry to Tenerife on departure, please book an overnight stay in a hotel in San Sebastian or Tenerife in good time. We will then take you to El Cabrito on arrival the next morning with one of our boats, or the day before you leave to San Sebastian. »

A day on the fincaListenelement 4And this is how your day on El Cabrito could look like: In the morning you let the sun wake you up, maybe walk to the beach and jump into the refreshing water or wander through the banana fields to the buffet and enjoy your breakfast right by the sea. Then it goes on with oriental dance and before you know it, it is already noon and you have to make the difficult decision which of the many delicacies of the buffet will be your shortlist :) In the afternoon the beach beckons or maybe you feel like it to climb one of the easily climbed local mountains and enjoy the magnificent view. Maybe you just like to stroll through the finca and elicit more secrets from it. Perhaps you already have a favorite place here where you can dream or where inspiration from the dance lessons can continue to have an effect on you. Maybe you treat yourself to a massage or are engrossed in stimulating conversations. Perhaps …. After a break of a few hours, you go back to the workshop and dance into the evening with a cheerful Caribbean atmosphere. Afterwards there is another invigorating buffet waiting for you and afterwards ...? A thousand possibilities ... The small beach bar with its exotic cocktails and the possibility to keep dancing is a seductive place. And then there is El Cabrito's legendary starry sky, which you can relax and enjoy on one of the beach loungers. Or maybe you just fall into your bed exhausted and happy and let the sound of the sea rock you gently into the realm of dreams ... By the way, with your trip you are also supporting a project that promotes sustainable tourism and strives to use the natural resources of La Gomera to obtain. You can find out more about it on the El Cabritos website.
Vacation with your loved ones
Of course, you can also travel with your family or friends. You'll find plenty of distraction in the time you're dancing. Just talk to me. I ask for the right room for you.
